An annual tradition since 1979, the Greenville Avenue St. Patrick’s Day Parade takes a slightly more irreverent approach than most, encouraging participants to come up with the wittiest and most outlandish costumes and themes. Entertaining crowds in the past have been groups like the "Patty O' Furniture Psycho Killer Drill Team,” the tap-dancing grandmothers, and leprechauns on Harleys. Of course, there’s still plenty of Irish music and dance, not to mention green beer and other “Irish” food and drink at surrounding pubs and restaurants.
Before the Parade
People show up early on Greenville Ave starting at 8am to get spots and by 9:30 am most good spots are all full. If you cannot arrive early plan on parking far away or taking a cab or DART.
It's a big party on the street with many places selling green beer and people having parking lot parties with music. The CVS parking lot on Lovers traditionally has a good crowd. So does Two Rows.
During the Parade
Many floats go by with people throwing green beads and other stuff. The majority of the floats are more adult oriented with bars and such promoting themselves.
After the Parade
After the parade around noon we'll meet in front of Trinity Hall and get some green beer and green grub, look at all the crazy people wandering around and hang out.
What To Bring
Sunscreen & Hat - it gets hot so prepare yourself
Comfortable Shoes - there may be a lot of walking involved
Cash - Makes it easy to buy water, food and beer
Green - of course, it's St Paddy's Day!
Rain coat - In cases of light rain, the parade has gone on in the past.

YOU MIGHT WANT A CHAIR AND BEVERAGE. WE WILL BE WEARING GREEN!
Indicate in your comments if you want to carpool from Fort Worth. Parking outside of the parade area and using DART is recommended.
They're expecting record crowds - more than 30 thousand!!! Weather is expected to be in the 40's in the morning and warming up to high 60's - perfect! Bring a folding chair, some patience and your party attitude!
The parade doesn't actually start until 11:00 am but because of the record crowd, I posted this for 9:00 am so we can get a spot along the parade route (they're saying all the good spots will be gone by 9:30). You don't have to get there that early but the more the merrier!! and the more spots we can save, the better.
We'll meet at the nw corner of Mockingbird Lane & Greenville Ave at 9:00, then stake out our spot on the parade route. Call or text me at 817.734.7838 to find us.
DART is recommended. Parking will be crazy and they will give out tickets and tow so be careful!
